Earlier this year, I was appointed as the Local Champion for Enterprise Nation. It’s a role I am incredibly proud of and one from which I can offer huge value to local small businesses here in Nottingham and across the East Midlands.
Last week, I held the first ever Enterprise Nation “Meet Up” at the recently opened Accelerate Places in Nottingham. The venue is perfect as it is all about encouraging small businesses to start, thrive and grow and our hosts allowed us to keep things very informal, which was perfect for our group of 40 entrepreneurs. Most of our guests were local businesses, some just starting out, some that were already trading and some that were on the verge of major growth, including a number of exporters.
However, we were also joined by a group of businesses who had been on a trade mission to Boots, which is based here in Nottingham. This is of course a fantastic opportunity for any business that is within the health and beauty sector but especially when many of these entrepreneurs are relatively small. It is wonderful to be able to create and offer these opportunities as part of Enterprise Nation and I look forward to hearing of any successes from the mission in the coming weeks.Read more…
